Probably nothing new, but this is how I make it:
- About 1/2 oz simple syrup (or a little tiny spoonful of caster sugar + a tiny dash of water)
- 3 oz Wild Turkey 101
- a few dashes of Angostura or Australian bitters (no idea what the difference is)
- About 1/3 oz Cointreau (I never have orange peel to garnish)
No maraschino cherry because who has those at home?
Pour it all into a rocks glass with a big ice cube. If you’re using caster sugar, maybe shake first. Don’t drink too slowly as the ice will melt and make it watery. If you want to drink slowly, either pour into a tin of ice, then strain into the glass (to cool it) or use whisky rocks.
Does this still count as an old fashioned?
